A positive part of this isolation is that we can use all this time to meditate, to get to know our mind, how it works and how we can modify it so that it tends more towards the positive.
This is a wonderful opportunity to practice the ‘4 PRELIMINARIES’, because normally in our daily life we do not have time because of work, constant travelling and multiple occupations…
To attain the Enlightened State, the Buddha State, and to be able to help others we need to accumulate a great deal of merit, part method merit and part wisdom merit. To accumulate the part of method merit we need Lam Rim as a base. To meditate step by step on the lower common path and realize it, step by step meditate on the middle common path and realize it and the same the upper path, realize bodhicitta and the wisdom of emptiness. To obtain the realizations of these three paths we need to accumulate merits with the 4 preliminaries: long prostrations, mandala offerings, recitation of the hundred-syllable mantra and the refuge prayer.
